A guy spat in this officer’s face. She became ill with TB and died seven months later.
Her name was Arina Koltsova, and she was 35 years old. She was carrying out her duties by arresting a guy. He became enraged and spit in her face. She had no idea he had TB at the time.
She eventually fainted at work after disregarding many TB signs.
Arina died as a result of TB complications. She was buried two days later.
It’s unclear if Koltsova’s illness was resistant or merely detected too late for therapy to work. It is still uncertain if the criminal will face murder or manslaughter charges.
