Brian Laundrie Caught On 911 Call Allegedly Slapping Gabby Petito

A 911 call detailed a  domestic incident between Gabby Petito and her fiancé Brian Laundrie, including a description of Laundrie allegedly hitting Petito.

Laundrie told police that the two were arguing and that he suggested Petito go for a stroll to cool down. Petito allegedly attempted to smack Laundrie before pushing her away, according to WJXX.

However, A 911 caller who witnessed the two earlier stated that Laundrie struck Petito while inside the van. The van, according to the witness, was a white Ford with a Florida license plate. According to WJXX, the witness then recalled seeing the pair exit the van and run up and down the sidewalk before Laundrie hit Petito. According to the witness, the two then drove away.

Police determined the incident as an “emotional break” rather than a domestic incident, WJXX reported.

About a month later, Petito was reported to be missing and Laundrie returned to his North Port, Florida home refusing to speak to law enforcement about her disappearance.

On Sunday, authorities announced a body fitting Petito’s description was found in the section of Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest. The body has not been confirmed to be Petito, but an autopsy is being conducted Tuesday, WJXX reported.
