Amanda Bynes has been placed on a psychiatric hold after being discovered naked and alone on the streets, according to TMZ.
According to an eyewitness, Bynes was observed wandering through downtown Los Angeles without any clothing on early Sunday morning. According to reports, Bynes waved a car down, informing the driver she was recovering from a mental episode. Amanda then dialed 911 on her own.
According to law enforcement officials, Bynes was transferred to a local police station, where a mental health team concluded she required a 5150 psych hold.
Luckily, according to our sources, Bynes was not injured during the incident, though things might have been far worse considering the location where she was discovered.
According to a source close to Amanda, she is presently hospitalized and will likely be there for several days. A psychiatric hold typically lasts 72 hours, although it can be prolonged.
It was almost one year to the day when Amanda’s 9-year conservatorship was officially terminated. Amanda’s mother was her conservator starting back in 2013 when it was clear she was having issues with her mental health — she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. After a series of bizarre incidents — including one where she set her neighbor’s driveway on fire, almost engulfing her dog in flames — she was sent to a psychiatric ward for treatment.
