Authorities stated Thursday that at least ten pupils at Van Nuys Middle School were treated in a medical emergency after possibly ingesting some type of cannabis product.
Around 10:30 a.m., authorities received a report about probable overdoses at the school. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, those being treated are between the ages of 12 and 14, and are only having mild to moderate symptoms.
At least six of them were sent to the hospital.
Officials couldn’t identify exactly what the students took, but they suspected marijuana.
The LAFD had anticipated four patients, but that number swiftly grew. When rescue services came, some children may have fled and hidden in classrooms, according to officials.
