Black Widow: Scarlett Johansson Is Saying “Goodbye”

Scarlett Johansson’s final outing as Natasha Romanoff, the role she has played since 2010’s Iron Man 2, appears to be Black Widow. The character was murdered off in Avengers: Endgame when a sacrifice was required in order for the Avengers to get the Soul Stone in their quest to reverse Thanos’s death of half of the cosmos.

Now, two years after the world saw Natasha’s destiny in Endgame, a Black Widow prequel is trying to fill in the blanks regarding Natasha’s existence in the MCU, and based on Johansson’s remarks in an interview with ComicBook.com it definitely looks like she maybe walking away from the role for good.

“Honestly, I feel like it’s always, it feels great to leave a party when it’s still raging and I think that this film [Black Widow] feels very much like it’s alive and fresh and powerful and I feel really pleased with it,” Johansson said. “I feel really happy with the work that we’ve done for this decade of time and, you know, it’s bitter sweet to say, ‘Goodbye,’ but if you love something, you need to set it free!”
