Ashley Judd and her family wanted everyone to know how Naomi Judd died.
The younger Judd appeared on “Good Morning America” on Thursday in an interview with Diane Sawyer. She stated that her family had decided that she should tell the cause of her mother’s death.
“She used a weapon, A firearm. So that’s the piece of information we are very uncomfortable sharing.” Ashley Judd said.
On April 30, she and her sister Wynonna Judd revealed the death of their mother “to the affliction of mental illness.” She was 76 years old.
Ashley Judd and her family claimed they wanted to raise awareness about mental illness because it is “essential to distinguish between the loved one and the sickness.”
According to Judd, the family reluctantly disclosed the reason of death before it became public in another way. She also said that she was the one who discovered her mother, who had been open about her depression battle, after it occurred.
