UFC legend Anderson Silva has long been lobbying to fight former Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, and now it sounds like the Irish superstar is willing to step into the octagon. While the fight has not been made official by UFC boss Dana White, McGregor informally accepted the challenge in a simple post on social media. McGregor is arguably the most popular fighter in the UFC and was considered the most dominant until his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018. Silva has been considered one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time and held the Middleweight Championship for 7 years and 16 successful title defenses.
Silva made his case for a McGregor matchup most recently on social media, saying it would be a superfight if UFC can make it happen.
