And now more than 5,000 miles away from Hollywood, a dispute in London between Channing Tatum and Thandiwe Newton about Will Smith’s obnoxious conduct at the Oscars became so hot that reportedly has Newton in serious hot water as far as her role in the upcoming Magic Mike film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Salma Hayek has taken up Newton’s part in Magic Mike’s Last Dance, which began shooting in London a few weeks ago for HBO Max.
The official statement from Warner Bros. claimed: “Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Magic Mike’s Last Dance to deal with family matters.”
The new development for the stripper-centric film, which is planned to premiere on HBO Max, comes less than two weeks after filming began in the United Kingdom.
Unlike the other chapters, the narrative of Magic Mike’s Last Dance, according to the film’s screenplay, Reid Carolin, will revolve around the female protagonist primarily.
