A source close to the production revealed to Variety that Gal Gadot is in final discussions to play the Evil Queen in Disney’s forthcoming live-action rendition of “Snow White.”
Gadot will play the legendary princess alongside “West Side Story” standout Rachel Zegler, who was cast in the role in June. Because Gadot is most recognized for her heroic work in DC’s “Wonder Woman” trilogy, her role as the Evil Queen will allow her to display a more sinister aspect to her work.
In the timeless fairytale that became Disney’s first animated feature in 1937, the Evil Queen attempts to trick Snow White into eating a poisoned apple after becoming jealous of her beauty. The villain also speaks the famous line: “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”
