ATLANTA – A Georgia judge rejected a lawsuit by the Republican State Party and President Donald Trump ‘s campaign calling for him to guarantee that the coastal county complied with state regulations on the handling of absentee ballots.
Chatham County Supreme Court Judge James Bass did not offer a reason for his judgment at the end of the nearly one-hour trial on Thursday. The county encompasses a strongly Democratic town of Savannah.
The suit posed questions over 53 absentee ballots, which the poll observers claimed were not part of the initial batch of ballots. County election officers testified that all 53 ballots had been received on schedule.
