With so much time that has gone by with speculations, claims, and different leaks, it has now been confirmed that the legendary Nintendo 64 shooter GoldenEye 007 will be remastered.
When the popular James Bond game initially debuted in 1997, it immediately established the standard for what console shooters might become. And, while it has since been restricted to the platform on which it was published, it will be returning on fresh hardware about 25 years later.
GoldenEye 007 was officially revealed in a new teaser during today’s Nintendo Direct. The game will be available on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch at an unspecified future date.
The Switch edition of the game, in particular, will be available through Nintendo Switch Online. In terms of appearance, this updated edition of GoldenEye 007 closely matches the original game but is now available in HD for the first time.
Rather than rebuilding the game from the bottom up, it appears that the visuals have just been improved so that GoldenEye 007 may remain in its original form.
