Hawkeye: Jeremy Renner Begins Work on Disney+ Series?

The new upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye, looks to be ongoing in Atlanta, with Jeremy Renner posting a selfie to his Instagram Story on Monday afternoon.

Although the selfie itself might not be a direct sign that the Disney+ series has begun, Renner’s look in the photo is quite reminiscent of his MCU role in the classic comics.

With a lacerated nose and cuts on both his face and his cheek—combined with the reality that he’s still sporting a bandage—appearance Renner’s is a direct node introduced in the beloved Hawkeye sequence by Matt Fraction and David Aja.

Also introduced in the aforementioned run is Kate Bishop, the newest character to adopt the Hawkeye mantle in the Marvel Comics mythos. Though the character has been confirmed for the series, we’ve yet to get confirmation on who will play the beloved archer.

When we spoke with Hawkeye executive producer Trinh Tran last year, she revealed both characters will serve as leads in the series. She stopped short of confirming the fact Hailee Steinfeld will be stepping into the role of Bishop.
