Henry Cavill is officially done playing Superman.
Cavill revealed in October that he will be returning to play the hero following a cameo in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, with aspirations of appearing in the long-awaited sequel to 2013’s Man of Steel.
However, towards the end of October, James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed co-chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios, which replaced DC Films, a reformed branch of Warner Bros. Discovery.
The two apparently met to discuss the future of Man of Steel 2, which now looks unlikely to happen.
“I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news, everyone, I will, after all, not be returning as Superman.” The actor stated on his Instagram.
