The vaccination issue is splitting Hollywood, from studio backlots to agency meeting rooms, just as the delta variant continues on its deadly march.
While vaccination doubters are considerably less likely to express their views publicly, there are still a few of industry holdouts who continue to do so.
Like Letitia Wright, who has taken anti-vaccine stances on social media. In Wright’s instance, a set insider claims she has expressed similar sentiments regarding the COVID-19 vaccinations on the Black Panther Atlanta set.
Following a backlash for releasing a viral anti-vaccine clip in December, the British actress discreetly severed all ties with her whole U.S. team of agents. Which is a major move. You don’t often hear that an actor parts ways with their entire team of representatives.
Disney, the studio behind Black Panther, will begin rolling out a sticker system on all of its new productions in mid-October that requires visible proof of COVID-19 vaccination status, as stipulated in a return-to-work agreement between AMPTP and Hollywood’s unions. Those in Zone A who are fully vaccinated will have a wristband. Those who are not, will not. (Anything already shooting is not covered.)
How these new COVID vaccination requirements will affect stars like Wright who have been against the vaccine remains to be seen. But obviously, if she continues to reject it, could have a major negative impact on her status with current acting projects…including her biggest role with Black Panther.
People on Twitter had strong response to this news about Wright:
