Jimmy Kimmel has taken a lot of heat online because many people felt a sketch he and Will Arnett played as presenters stole the show from winner Quinta Brunson.
At Monday night’s Emmy Awards, Arnett and Kimmel presented the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
Arnett brought a “passed out” Jimmy Kimmel onto the stage and collapsed next to the microphone stand, explaining that the late-night host had too many margaritas backstage.
Kimmel continued with the skit when Arnett called Brunson’s name as the winner and she came to the stage, even after Brunson said, “Jimmy, wake up. I won.”
Jimmy sat so close to Brunson throughout her speech that it was practically hard for the show’s directors to capture a photo of her without him in it.
