Constantine 2, the sequel to the 2005 film featuring Keanu Reeves, is in the works from what Peter Stormare has said and posted, who portrayed Lucifer in the film.
Stormare, who also starred in Fargo, Aramageddon, American Gods, John Wick: Chapter 2, and a number of video games like Destiny and Destiny 2, stood out in the DC comics adaptation.
Despite being crippled by critics and comic book fans alike upon launch, Constantine has been re-evaluated in recent years , particularly because Reeves has had a significant career revival due to the John Wick franchise.
Rumors of a sequel to the Reeves version have swirled for years, but they seemed to be squashed when it was announced J.J. Abrams was producing a reboot at Warner Bros. Despite this, Reeves and director Francis Lawrence, who went on to helm a number of the Hunger Games movies, hinted that if a sequel were ever to be greenlit, they’d both be keen to return to make it, with producer Akiva Goldsman adding that he’d make a sequel tomorrow at this year’s Comic-con@Home.
This is what Stormare posted on his Instagram:
