Beating the Golden State Warriors on their home court twice in the same series would have been a huge accomplishment for the Los Angeles Lakers, especially given that Game 5 was a must-win game for them.
While the Lakers showed some flashes of life throughout the night, they were dominated by the Warriors and will now return to Los Angeles for another chance to send the reigning champs packing.
The Lakers had a few chances to close the deficit against the Warriors, but they couldn’t manage to get over the hump, failing to pull together many big runs. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis delivered outstanding performances, but the supporting cast fell short.
