He then performs Avicii’s “Wake Me Up.”
As his father watched from the crowd — he began to tear up. The entire audience, including the judges, was extremely impressed.
“Wow, I really loved listening to your voice,” judge Heidi Klum said. “You took me on your journey. I really really like it and I think you’re very special.”
Rhodes ended up moving to the next round. Howie Mandel turned up to look at the contestant’s dad and said, “You did something right sir, and you should be very proud,” he said.
