Over the weekend, a marriage proposal took an embarrassing turn when a guy attempted to pop the question at a Major League Baseball game.
Worse, hundreds of stunned onlookers were present to see his harsh rejection by his lover, who didn’t just say no, but smacked him across the face.
The duo can be seen conversing in the stands at a Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox game in a video that has since gone viral on Twitter.
As they make their way down the stairs, the man unexpectedly stops, kisses her, and says, “I love you.”
Slowly, he starts kneeling down, and his stunned girlfriend gasps in amazement as she realizes he is going to propose.
Meanwhile, the incident piques the interest of many in the surrounding audience, who begin bringing out their cameras and filming the event.
They watch in awe as the man pulls out a black ring box and opens it to reveal a Ring Pop sweet.
The young woman’s attitude suddenly changes when she sees the lollipop, and she slaps her lover across the face.
“What the f*** is wrong with you,” she shouts, throwing her drink at him.
The video cuts off before her boyfriend has time to clarify whether the proposal was genuine or a prank – or whether we find out if they made up or not.
Even so, the clip sparked debate amongst viewers, who were divided as to whether the girl’s reaction was justified – or whether she should learn to take a joke.
