Someone leaked a script for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” only one month before it was released in theaters, offering some fans a sneak preview into how the film will play out.
Of course this is a BIG no-no with the studios.
So Marvel now wants to get to the bottom of the mystery leak and bring them to justice.
In January, a 63-page transcript of dialogue from the “Ant-Man” film was released on Reddit, and Marvel is attempting to identify the person or individuals responsible.
The stolen text was modified and/or shown in a Portuguese online interface, and evidence suggests it was “planned for use in subtitles,” according to pirate news site TorrentFreak.
An anonymous source stated in an introduction to the stolen conversation that the language is credited to scriptwriter Jeff Loveness and defined as “translated dialogue.”
A request was filed Friday in California federal district court on behalf of Marvel asking to issue a subpoena that would force Reddit to expose whoever was responsible for posting the movie dialogue to the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit “on or about” Jan. 20, 2023.
The subpoena request was filed in accordance with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
