Michael B. Jordan, Jonathan Majors Face BACKLASH For Comforting Angela Bassett After Oscars Loss

On Sunday night, the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress went to Jamie Lee Curtis for her portrayal in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, despite the fact that many anticipated it to go to Angela Bassett for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

While Curtis’ victory was well-deserved, it came as a surprise. But, Bassett’s Marvel co-stars Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors paid tribute to the actor during their turn on stage to present the Cinematography award.

As Jordan and Majors took the stage to give the Best Cinematography award, Jordan greeted Bassett in the crowd with a simple statement “Hello, Auntie. We adore you.” You can see it for yourself down below.

It was a heartfelt tribute, but one with special meaning for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. “Hello Auntie,” Jordan said as he entered Wakanda’s throne room in Black Panther, but it’s safe to say he wasn’t exactly paying honor to Queen Ramonda at the time.

However, not everyone thought it was such a heartfelt tribute. A number of well-known journalist like Jason Whitlock are outraged.
