‘RIP Jeremy Renner’ Starts Trending on Twitter as the Internet Tries To Cancel the Marvel Star

As we know, people have always assumed that Marvel actors are heroes and role models on and off-screen, but unexpectedly, despite being depicted as larger-than-life figures on the big screen, they aren’t immune to being lambasted by fans online, sometimes for the most trivial of reasons.

Marvel fans have been targeting Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt for a variety of reasons in recent months. First and foremost, the actor is being accused of homophobia after being seen in 2019 attending a “anti-LGBTQ” church. Apart from that, Pratt is said to be a white supremacist and a fan of Donald Trump. None of the accusations leveled against him have been proven.

Recently, social media users attempted to cancel WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen’s appearance in a recent interview over her apparent usage of the term “gypsy,” which is considered insulting in Romani norms. Olsen has never addressed the matter, and we don’t know if she was using the phrase in a different context.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner has become the latest victim of the internet’s “cancel culture.” Twitter was shaken yesterday night when the hashtag #RIPJeremyRenner trended on the social media platform, causing concern among his fans who assumed something awful had occurred to the original Avengers star.
