Salt Bae’s London restaurant with $1,975 steak is hiring a chef for $16 an hour

Nusret Gokce, better known as Salt Bae, is employing a chef to prepare costly menu items such as $1,975 Golden Giant Tomahawk steaks for a meager $16 an hour.

The celebrity chef is searching for a Chef de Partie for his famed London restaurant, Nusr-Et, and is paying the station chef $16 to $18 per hour, plus tips. According to the Daily Mail, the pay is similar to a serving of mashed potatoes or sweet corn at the fashionable diner.

The position was posted on caterer.com and notes the restaurant “offers a highly competitive salary.”

“Amazing opportunity for an experienced Chef De Partie to join Nusret team in the new restaurant in London,” the post read. “As a Chef De Partie, you will be working with some of the finest ingredients from the U.K. and abroad in the one of the most famous steakhouses in the world.”
