The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be permanently closed by Disney in September. The final cruise will take place on September 28.
The following is Disney’s statement on the matter:
The news follows months of underwhelming occupancy. The Galactic Starcruiser made its debut little over a year ago, and while bookings were initially full, current operations had reached a stage where there were only enough visitors to fill one supper service.
Cruises with low occupancy were being canceled, and allegations circulated that Disney was refusing to renew numerous entertainment Staff contracts. They have started giving discounts to Disney Vacation Club members and Cast Members as well.
