With the last season of his smash HBO series Succession airing on Sunday, Matthew Macfadyen appears to have found his next project, as Deadline reports the Emmy-winner is the latest addition to Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3.
Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role, alongside Hugh Jackman and Emma Corrin from The Crown. It’s unclear who Macfadyen will play.
Shawn Levy will direct, with Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese returning to write the script. A prior draft was written by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige will serve as a producer with Reynolds and Levy.
On the Emmy-winning series Succession, Macfadyen is most renowned for his scene-stealing performance as Tom, Shiv Roy’s husband.
Macfadyen’s most recent season earned him an Emmy and a BAFTA for outstanding supporting actor in a drama, and the final season opened to enormous numbers this past Sunday.
