The Sparrows and the Umbrellas find themselves in the current day, with a looming face-off between the two, in the first extended look at Season 3 of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, which premieres on June 22.
According to the official synopsis, after putting an end to 1963’s doomsday, the Umbrella Academy returns to the present, confident that they avoided the original catastrophe and rectified this godforsaken chronology once and for all.
But, after a brief celebration, they find that things aren’t quite (or at all) as they left them. Welcome to the Sparrow Academy.
The Sparrows, who are smart, fashionable, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, instantly clash with the Umbrellas in a violent confrontation that turns out to be the least of everyone’s problems.
After navigating their own challenges, losses, and surprises, as well as dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the Universe (which they may have caused), all they need to do now is persuade Dad’s new and possibly better family to assist them in righting the wrongs that their arrival caused. Will they be able to return to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Is this new planet poised to disclose more than simply a blip in time?
Created by Steve Blackman, based on the comic book series by Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy revolves around a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who reunite to solve the mystery of their father’s death and the threat of an imminent apocalypse.
Cast includes Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Colm Feore, Ritu Arya, Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Jake Epstein, Genesis Rodriguez, Cazzie David and Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton.
