Thor: Love and Thunder’s first complete trailer has arrived, weeks after a brief teaser was aired, and it’s a doozy. The Love and Thunder trailer not only transports Marvel fans beyond the galaxy, but it also provides the first official glimpse at Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher.
Gorr appears a few times during the teaser, even uttering his trademark “All gods shall perish” phrase before unleashing his pantheon-destroying wrath.
Though action figurines teased fans about what to anticipate from the legendary Thor villain, the clip represents the character’s first official live-action appearance. Though viewers just got a peek of the villain, he was as bit as terrifying as director Taika Waititi had previously promised.
“It’s a great, really fun, weird little group of heroes, a new team for Thor with Korg, Valkyrie and The Mighty Thor,” Waititi said. “And, in my humble opinion, we have probably the best villain that Marvel’s ever had in Christian Bale.”
