Ok, movie lovers, before we speak about the awesome Venom 2 Carnage Trailer video at the end of this post, let’s first discuss the latest teaser images we’ve got.
We may have just had our first taste at what Sony’s large screen adaptation of the Carnage symbiote looks like. As of now, Venom 2 is expected to be published in 2021 due to COVID, and while we know that Woody Harrelson is set to play Cletus Kasady (aka Carnage), what we didn’t know was just what this iteration of the character will look like. However, due to our fellow comic book filmgoers, this might no longer be the case.
Before we get to the leaks, I want to first preface this by stressing that they are simply LEAKS. Take them with a whole bucket full of salt, too. Now, with that out of the way, let’s have a peek at the videos.
Potential Leak #1
This first image portrays carnage behind a cage of some sorts. This may be the prison from the credit scene that Woody Harrelson was in, during the first movie. This photo is definitely the more legit out of the two. The CGI looks closer to what I’d expect from a big budget Hollywood production. The coloring and dark film grain looks similar to the first film as well.
Potential Leak #2
Now I have a few issues with the second image. Firstly, is the horrendous CGI. Now this could simply be an early test footage shot. But considering the fact that the movie has already wrapped on its shooting and is just focused on editing, I find that extremely unlikely. Furthermore, this design in my opinion looks too similar to the venom symbiote. I know that in the comics, carnage is basically the son of venom, however I would still like to see a more distinct difference in the two characters’ appearances.
