There are over 5.5 million people suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease in the United States. It’s a disease that is devastating and tragic for not only the sufferer, but for their families as well. One teenager wrote a song for his Grandma who has Alzheimer’s and it moved the entire room to tears.
Harry Gardner auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent and from the moment he stepped on stage, the judges knew he was special. The quiet and shy 16-year-old politely spoke with the judges and told them that he’d written the song he was about to perform himself.
Harry wanted to perform a song that he had written and dedicated to his grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s almost 4 years ago. It was a song he poured a lot of thought and emotion into while writing.
The judges were excited to hear what this teen had composed for his grandmother, but they had no idea just how moving and emotional the performance would be. It was a moment that left everyone in the room teary-eyed and speechless.

Made me cry because me mom has dementia and my biggest fear is she will forget who I am. I am now the parent to a woman who always knew who she was and her independence was her forte. I am playing this song again for my own broken heart of losing her thoughts and her words.
This reminds me of my dad he has dementia and is struggling.
Made me cry the song was true from heart so beautiful.
