You’ll be shocked when you learn the identity of the drunk driver who killed this mans young daughter. This grieving father’s emotional message to that drunk driver will bring tears to your eyes.

Rick Ellis lost his 6-year old daughter Lindsey in a car crash. The reckless, inebriated driver loved having fun, partying, staying up late and drinking whiskey.

Whenever life got too boring or too stressful, they would reach for that bottle. This time, that impulse ended in tragedy that took their own life, as well as Lindsey’s.

Rick, the grieving father, had a full and heavy heart and he needed to deliver a message to that driver.

So he stood at Lindsey’s grave and recorded an emotional plea dedicated to those who drink and drive, in hopes they will rethink their ways and prevent another tragedy waiting to happen.

The drunk driver who hit his daughter got 15 years, but her sentence was for life. John Seaman’s 20-year old daughter Kelly was hit by a drunk driver in May 2012, becoming yet another statistic brought to grief by a drunk’s negligence behind the wheel.

As reported by Little Things, almost every single day, about 30 people die from road accidents in the United States and the reason? Drunk driving.

This amounts to one death every 51 minutes.  But John wanted his daughter’s plight to matter, so he took an extra step outside his grief to communicate to the world.

Shortly after the accident, John posted a video where he introduced his daughter lying in a hospital bed, showing the results of her massive injuries.

Here’s the followup to Kellie Seaman’s sad story, as told by John:

“For those that haven’t heard, Kellie passed away last year from her injuries. She stayed alive for 391 days and I stayed by her side. The man responsible has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Our medical bills are almost done being handled, thank all of you who stood with us and continue the fight against drunk driving.”

But the story didn’t end there. A little over a year later, he posted another message. Go to the next page to see the final chapter to this story.

It will make you smile!  This 14-year old said, “I feel the most relaxed and comfortable when I am at your house.

Here’s what wrote about the effect of divorced parents on a child’s future relationship:

Divorce affects family members in many different ways, both positive and negative. While many children can foster healthy relationships post-divorce, some may experience challenges maintaining future relationships after coping with their parents’ divorce.

“When a child’s parents divorce, the experience always allows leaving a relationship to be a viable option versus hanging in and wrestling with working things out,” says Dr. Fran Walfish, Beverly Hills, Calif.-based psychotherapist and author of “The Self-Aware Parent.”

That’s why it’s important to teach your child about relationship-building for the future to ensure she can foster healthy relationships of her own, and be able to work things out with a partner if that’s a suitable option.

Imgur user nuthabrickindawall says his 14-year-old daughter gave him this touching letter for Christmas.

It reads:

Dear Daddy, Merry Christmas!! I know that this year the divorce was hard on us, but at the same time I feel like it brought you and me closer together. I feel like I could really tell you anything now, and I feel the most relaxed and comfortable when I am at your house. In other words, that’s why I usually ask to go to your house after dinner; it helps me to just have a moment to relax and have a loving, reassuring face to make me laugh. I love you so much Daddy!!

The Imgur user said, “My wife divorced me this year, tearing our family apart and breaking my heart. I adopted her daughter from her first marriage almost ten years ago. She is now 14-years-old. This is the letter she wrote to me for Christmas and my heart is exploding with pride and joy.

Please excuse me while I wipe my tears because this guy deserves this…
