Chris Hemsworth Says His Next Thor Appearance Will Be His Last

Thor 5 was rumored even before Thor: Love and Thunder entered theaters, but Chris Hemsworth has hinted that Thor’s next appearance may be his final in the MCU.

Thor, along with Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, has become a series veteran as one of the three founding Avengers members still appearing in the MCU.

Nothing, however, lasts forever, and even Gods must face their last struggle. That day may be nearing for Hemsworth.

The MCU has one seemingly unbreakable rule. Every key character cannot just fade away without a meaningful conclusion to their journey.

This resulted in the deaths of Iron Man and Black Widow, while Steve Rogers stepped down as Captain America after opting to just grow old and live his life.

So, how might Thor depart from the MCU? After earlier stating that he was willing to portray Thor for as long as they needed him, it appears Hemsworth has changed his mind.

“Yeah, for sure. I feel like we’d probably have to close the book if I ever did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like it probably warrants that. I feel like it’d probably be the finale, but that’s not based on anything anyone’s told me or any sort of plans. You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero, and I don’t know—am I at that stage? Who knows?”
