Andrew Tate has been banned from Facebook and Instagram

For breaking Meta’s regulations, influencer Andrew Tate has been banned from Facebook and Instagram.

The former kickboxer rose to prominence in 2016 after being booted from the reality show Big Brother due to a video that purported to show him assaulting a lady.

He went on to become well-known online, with Twitter banning him for claiming that women should “carry responsibility” for sexual assault.

At the time his account was deleted, he had 4.7 million Instagram followers.

This figure has risen quickly from roughly one million followers in June.

Meta stated that the kickboxing star had been banned from its platforms for breaking its regulations on harmful organizations and persons, but provided no other specifics.

Mr Tate said the footage had been manipulated at the time of his withdrawal from Big Brother, calling it “a pure falsehood attempting to make me seem terrible.”

He has yet to respond to the Meta ban.
