President Joe Biden crashed off his bike at the end of a ride Saturday at Cape Henlopen State Park near his beach house in Delaware, but he was OK.
“I’m OK,” he assured reporters after being assisted up by US Secret Service agents. “My foot got stuck” in the toe cages.
Biden, 79, and first wife Jill Biden were finishing off a morning bike ride when the president decided to peddle over to a gathering of well-wishers gathered near the bike track. Biden, who was wearing a helmet, fell when attempting to dismount.
The president swiftly regained his composure and spent several minutes conversing with those who had gathered to see him ride his bike.
The White House stated in a statement that Biden’s foot became trapped in the pedal when he tried to pull it out during the pause.
