Ranking the 7 Best SPIDER-MAN Costumes of All-Time!

3. Spider-Man Future Foundation

For a time, Spider-Man replaced the deceased Johnny Storm (who has since come back to life, of course) in the Fantastic Four that became the Future Foundation. Along with the name modification, the FF had a costume change that reflected their new team.

The result is an amazing white and black Spidey costume that looks futuristic and sleek. It’s a strikingly beautiful costume made even more stylish in the hands of artist Marko Djurdjevic who drew the awesome piece above.

Peter wore this costume for a time (12 issues of FF, and a handful of times in the Amazing Spider-Man) but he should’ve worn them more. Fortunately, it’s also one of the costume options for the web-slinger that you can use in the Facebook game, Marvel Avengers Alliance which I happen to play.

2. Black Costume

One of the most popular costume changes of any superhero belong to Spider-Man because of this fine-looking black costume. Originally a costume that Spidey wore as a living alien symbiote, the costume is inspired by the Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman from the 1985 Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars maxi-series.

It’s definitely Spider-Man’s best alternate costume ever and it actually rivals the classic red and blue, in my opinion. I almost made this and the number one on my list a tie. The spider emblem is super elegant and by not including any other elements on the costume, it made the suit that much more different from the original. Believe it or not, it wasn’t well-received when it first came out but the costume grew on fans who eventually warmed up to it. And boy, did we ever!

One of the best renditions of the costume was done by Angel Medina who drew an unbelievably amazing Spider-Man (pun intended) in the non-symbiote black costume during the Back in Black series. Check it out again and you’ll see how beautiful the dark threads are most especially when Spider-Man is in action.
